Legal
Terms of Use
These terms set out what you may do with the material published on The Throttle Times, what we promise about it, and what we do not. They apply to everyone who reads the site.
The short version
- Read the site freely. Quote a few lines with credit and a link. Do not republish our articles, and do not scrape the site to train models or build a database.
- Everything here is general research, not a diagnosis. We are not your mechanic and reading this page does not make us one.
- Repair costs, recall status and service procedures change. We date our work, we correct it, and we do not guarantee it is current at the moment you read it.
- Decisions about your vehicle are yours. We are not liable for what follows from acting on general information published for a general audience.
- If we have used something of yours without permission, tell us and we will take it down.
1. Who these terms are between
The Throttle Times is published by KCS Global Group, an independent digital publishing company operating from Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean KCS Global Group; “you” means anyone accessing thethrottletimes.com.
These terms cover this website only. They do not cover other sites we publish, or any third-party site we link to.
2. Accepting these terms
By reading, downloading or otherwise using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure. Where the Disclaimer says something more specific about repair, cost or diagnostic information, that more specific wording applies.
3. No professional relationship
We publish general research about what has been documented for particular vehicles and model years. Your vehicle’s actual condition can only be established by a qualified technician who inspects it. Where a procedure involves lifting a vehicle, working on fuel, brake, airbag, high-voltage or steering systems, or anything that affects road safety, have it done by someone qualified to do it.
4. What you may do with our work
All articles, research, tables, graphics and page designs on this site are owned by KCS Global Group or used with permission, and are protected by copyright.
You are welcome to:
- Read, print and save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use
- Quote a short extract, up to roughly 100 words, provided you credit The Throttle Times and link to the page you took it from
- Link to any page on this site from anywhere, without asking us first
- Share a link on social media, in a forum post, or with a mechanic
Anything beyond that needs written permission. Write to info@thethrottletimes.com and tell us what you want to use and where. We usually say yes to reasonable requests.
5. What you may not do
Without our written permission, you may not:
- Republish an article, in whole or in substantial part, on another website, in print, or in any other medium
- Rewrite or translate our articles and publish the result as your own
- Copy our research tables, cost breakdowns or compiled data into another product or database
- Use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you, your business or your product
- Sell, license or redistribute any part of the site
- Remove or obscure copyright notices, bylines or source citations
You also may not use the site to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers, accounts or systems
- Introduce malware, or interfere with how the site works for others
- Place excessive automated load on the site
- Do anything unlawful, or anything that would expose us to legal liability
6. Automated access, scraping and AI training
Our articles are the product of paid research time, and their value depends on people reading them where they are published. So, except where we have given written permission, you may not:
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically download content from this site beyond normal search engine indexing
- Use our content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or ground any machine learning model, language model or AI system
- Build a dataset, index or derivative product from our articles, tables or compiled research
- Use automated tools to reproduce our content into answers, summaries or aggregations published elsewhere
Search engines may index this site normally under our robots directives. If you want to license our content for any of the uses above, write to info@thethrottletimes.com.
7. Accuracy and currency
We research every article against primary records and we verify claims before publishing. Our method is set out in our Editorial Policy. What we cannot do is guarantee that everything is correct and current at the moment you read it.
Information here goes out of date for ordinary reasons:
- Repair and parts costs move with suppliers, regions and time
- Recall campaigns open, expand and close
- Service bulletins are superseded or withdrawn
- Manufacturers revise maintenance schedules and specifications
Articles carry a published date and, where they have been revised, a last-reviewed date. Treat those dates as part of the information. Before acting on anything with cost or safety consequences, confirm it against the manufacturer’s current documentation or a qualified technician.
If you find something wrong, tell us. We handle it under our Corrections Policy, which means the change is logged and dated rather than quietly edited in.
8. Advertising and affiliate links
This site carries advertising and contains affiliate links. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Advertising is served by third-party networks and is not selected by our editorial team. An advertisement appearing beside an article is not an endorsement of the advertiser, and no advertiser is given any say over what we publish about them. Our revenue arrangements are set out on How We Make Money and our Affiliate Disclosure.
Transactions with any retailer or advertiser are between you and them. We are not a party to them and are not responsible for the goods, services, pricing, warranties, shipping or returns involved.
9. Links to other sites
We link to manufacturer documentation, government safety records, retailers and other publications. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A link is a pointer to a source, not an endorsement of everything on the site it points to.
Once you leave this site, the terms and privacy policy of wherever you land apply instead of ours.
10. Material you send us
If you send us a correction, a document, a photograph, a repair invoice or any other material, you confirm that you have the right to send it and that doing so does not breach anyone else’s rights.
You keep ownership of what you send. You give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for, which includes verifying a claim, correcting an article, and keeping an internal record of why something changed. We will not publish your name, your email address or any personal detail from your message without asking you first.
11. Copyright complaints
We take other people’s rights seriously. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, write to info@thethrottletimes.com with:
- The URL of the page complained about, and identification of the specific material
- Identification of the work you say has been infringed
- Your name, address and contact details
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them
- Your physical or electronic signature
We review complaints promptly and remove or amend material where a complaint is well founded. We would rather fix an attribution than argue about one.
12. No warranties
The site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The information here is complete, accurate or current at the time you read it
- A procedure, cost figure or specification applies to your particular vehicle
- The site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors
- Any defect will be corrected within any particular period
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KCS Global Group, its officers, employees and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here. That includes damage to a vehicle, the cost of a repair, lost income, lost time, and loss of data.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims connected with the site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KCS Global Group and the people who work for it against any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or your infringement of anyone else’s rights through your use of material taken from here.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Durg, Chhattisgarh, India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
This does not remove the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in. If you are a consumer resident in the United States or elsewhere, you keep whatever rights your local law gives you that cannot be contracted away.
Before either of us goes anywhere near a court, write to us. Most disagreements about a published article are resolved by looking at the document in question.
16. Availability and access
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, or take it down for maintenance, without notice.
We may restrict access from an address or network that is scraping the site, placing abnormal load on it, or attempting to interfere with it. We do not need to warn you before doing so.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes or as the law requires. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. Material changes are noted beneath that date for at least 30 days so returning readers can see what moved.
Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using the site.
18. General provisions
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a provision immediately, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure, are the whole agreement between us about your use of this site. You may not transfer your rights under them to anyone else.
19. Contact us
Questions about these terms, permission requests, copyright complaints and legal notices go to info@thethrottletimes.com. Questions about an article are better sent to contact@thethrottletimes.com, and our Contact page explains which inbox handles what.
